{"id":2828,"date":"2018-10-22T09:19:10","date_gmt":"2018-10-22T07:19:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/lama.es\/?p=2828"},"modified":"2018-11-14T17:46:31","modified_gmt":"2018-11-14T15:46:31","slug":"lama-70th-anniversary","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lama.es\/en\/lama-70th-anniversary\/","title":{"rendered":"LAMA 70th ANNIVERSARY"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The dinner to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the founding of our company was held on Friday 28th of September.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to LAMA\u2019s entire workforce, customers from the vast majority of the Spanish provinces attended. Others had travelled even further, from Portugal, Italy, Morocco and France. Moreover, we were also honoured by the company of our strategic suppliers.<\/p>\n<p>We thank all those invited for their presence and for their support over these seven decades.<\/p>\n<p>The event was presided over by Fernando Lama \u00c1lvarez, the Company\u2019s founder, who is now 90 years old. Mister Marc Sol\u00e0, the Sales Manager, was in charge of guiding the sequence of events during the evening:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Firstly, 3 videos were shown featuring Fernando Lama \u00c1lvarez, who related the beginnings of the company, followed by Fernando Lama Rodr\u00edguez, who recounted its progress until the present day and finally Jorge Lama, who focused on the company\u2019s plans for the future.<\/li>\n<li>The first speech was given by Fernando Lama Rodr\u00edguez. The President told the story of the development of the Company until the present day in great detail. He mainly focused on the 1940s, when his father created a small blacksmith shop in La Puebla del R\u00edo (Seville, Spain). He then moved on to the 60s when LAMA entered the hydraulic market. But it was in the 80s &#8220;when the real revolution happened in LAMA&#8221;, in the words of the President.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>After the historical review there was a special tribute to 12 employees who have been working for the company for more than 20 years. They were presented with a special gift.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The second speech was given by Jorge Lama. The CEO focused on the steps that LAMA will take to face the challenges of the immediate future. These objectives are: R&amp;D+i, modernisation and automation of some production processes and expansion of the company into potential new markets.
