NEW CLEANING MECHANISM FOR THE EKO AND EKOLU LAMA FAMILIES

LAMA Sistemas de Filtrado has adapted the filter cleaning mechanism of the EKO and EKOLU families to a new design that better suits the new filter cartridge, with a honeycomb structure.

This adaptation goes hand-in-hand with the need to optimise the mechanisms installation process.

Thanks to the new design concept, the installation of the nozzle and manifold is simple and practically automatic, with very easy fastening. This allows us to streamline the assembly process and offer much shorter lead times.

The engineering department has been working on a new nozzle design and has attained a complete adaptation to fit the filter cartridge. We have achieved reductions in the amount of water used in the filter cleaning process.

The material selected for the mould injection process is glass fibre-reinforced polyamide, replacing the PVC used in the previous model. Polyamide offers enormous strength and, according to LAMA’s sustainable management approach, we have been able to significantly reduce the amount of waste produced during the injection phase, compared to the material that we used previously.

The radial shape of the upper part of the nozzles simulates the shape of a water droplet and it is fully adapted to fit into the morphology of the cartridge. The distance between these two elements always remains uniform during the cleaning process, thereby improving the suction in our hydraulic filters.

Similarly, the mechanism’s manifold is built entirely from stainless steel, giving it great strength and durability.

The manifold and nozzles fit perfectly and the use of clamps is not necessary. LAMA’s design is clean and avoids unnecessary friction that could damage the inside of the mechanism. These two components are connected in such a way as to offer the least resistance to rotation and orbiting movements, thereby saving energy.

Improvements to the cleaning mechanism are included in the new versions of the EKOLU and EKO filters.
